Welcome to our world of discovery and learning!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

New Additions To Families and Playgrounds

Today, Kristen shared some important news with us...she's going to have a BABY!
She told us that she is about 12 weeks along, and will be getting pictures taken every month so that we can see how everything progresses! We are getting books to learn more about babies, and it will be interesting to pair our learning with the baby visuals (both via sonograms and belly growth)! We are so excited and happy for the Roth family!

At lunch a few days ago, the Owls were talking about how the playground isn't quite as fun as it could be, and we had discussed ways to make it more enjoyable. Ideas were put forth, including plans of grappling hooks, slides, ABC's, and monkey bars. The idea of monkey bars made Tamara remember that there existed a set of portable bars that were perfectly made for young friends over on the old E.C. playground! So today, we took a trip to the old playground. We acquired the set of monkey bars, and many friends lent a hand in carrying it back to our outdoor space. Chris, the cafeteria's chef, even helped lighten the load! Thanks, Chris!
Owls that spent previous years in the old building enjoyed a nostalgic play time on the old Early Childhood playground, and Owls that just came this year enjoyed a change of scenery.
Sadie and Mike traded hats!
