Welcome to our world of discovery and learning!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Mail, Visitors and the Creek!

We received a package today!! It was so exciting to open it at Morning Meeting! The children had lots of guesses what it was, including an piano and a motorcycle. It turned out to be our airplane parts for our broken airplane! We were so excited that we put the wheel on then and there! Barbara at Community Playthings even sent us a new pilot figure "for years of safe flying!"
The children have been so excited about writing letters that we have decided to make this into a formal study. Any good researcher knows that you should always begin with what you know, and then ask questions. Today we made a chart outlining our current knowledge base, and tomorrow we will talk about what we want to learn.

Every month, we will have visitors from the Middle School as part of their Community Service. Today was the first day, and Thomas, Sidny, and Jesse visited us today, and were just wonderful! It was their good luck that it happened to be creek walk day!
