As soon as they walked in, the Owls set out to make the most of this beautiful October day. We began with a few friends making bat wings, as inspired by some of yesterday's creations. This led to a morning full of experimenting and crafting together different types of costumes. A few examples of such outfits are paper bag and construction paper ghosts, cats, dog pirates, puppies and more. Many of the get-ups has a certain spooky element to their design, with some friends obviously becoming more excited for Halloween.

"I made this myself without anyone's help!" |
We enjoyed creating so much, that we decided to take a quick walk around Lower School and frighten Tricia and Debbie.

Boo! |
Annabel's dad Chris also graciously brought in envelopes when he heard that we were doing some letter writing yesterday, so we created a letter writing station. We gave references for commonly used words in letter writing, such as
Mom,
Dad,
Family and
From. Many of the Owls became very engaged and excited about writing letters, one friend even writing a letter to herself!
After spending some more time outside enjoying our new play structure and enjoying the beautiful autumn weather, the Owls decided to have a picnic for lunch on the structure. We sat on blankets on the fresh wood, happily sharing each others' company and sitting in the sun. It was a wonderful way to start the afternoon.
