Welcome to our world of discovery and learning!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Autumn Groves and Crafting Cozy Coves

With the excitement of building the cozy box for our room still fresh, we took a trip to see our friend April, who is the Technical Director of the AFS theater and the queen of all things building related to help us get started. She worked on laying out a plan and even helped us cut our wood down to exact measurements. After we headed back to our classroom, we began to sand the wood to make the pieces safe.

Problem Solving: Using the bench to help reach the tops of the tall wood pieces.
And since there seems to be building happening all around us, we were prohibited from playing on our usual playground today. We capitalized on the opportunity by celebrating the beautiful autumn day at the grove, where we admired the colors, played in leaves, and climbing trees!

Other things that make the day great:

Still loving water beads!

And I'll leave you with some beautiful music made during a jam session:
