Coming out of a weekend that proceeded a very weird week (to say the least), it was anyone's guess as to how our little friends would adjust. Luckily, our amazing Owls were, for the most part, ready to get fully back into the swing of things! We had many letter and card writers, and the recipients began to vary to friends around the classroom, instead of the usual writing to family.
With the idea of writing to each other in mind, the Owls began to become very focused on writing each other's names. This lead to a large sheet of paper being pulled out, with friends writing their own names so that the names could be together on the same page. From here, it was decided that there was going to be a party, and in order to be included in the party, your name must be written down on the paper. Friends even helped each other form letters that were causing difficulty. Clearly, Owls are very exclusive, yet creative and communal creatures!
We received a visit from the lovely Alicia, our EC Spanish teacher this morning! We "flew" to a new spanish speaking country today, Spain. We sang songs and refreshed our memory on things that we had learned with her before. We also learned some new words and phrases with her.
We also got to enjoy the leftovers of hay bails from the Fall Festival when we were playing outside. Hay hideouts were made, straw was thrown and jumped in, and the bails were used as gross motor obstacles. In short, we were just enjoying the autumn day.
