Welcome to our world of discovery and learning!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Bringing in Brushes and Wowing Guests

We received another visit from Sam today, who introduced us to more art skills. This time, she introduced the paintbrush as a creating tool, and brought in black and white paper for us to experiment on. Friends enjoyed playing with the different collaborations of color on differently shaded paper, and testing some possibilities (black paint on black paper, seeing how white paint contrasts with black paper, etc.)

Our school also received a visit from educators as part of the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC). They were here to explore our environments and see our program as it lives and breathes. These educators, who come from different areas around Pennsylvania and are truly committed to the education of little people, were amazed by the flow of our Lower School and by the wonderful work of the Owls.
Other Owl On-Goings:
Thank you to the Mohr family for bringing in all of the cranberry things! We ate some, drank some, and turned some into a very cool sensory stimulating activity!
Are they eggs?
