Welcome to our world of discovery and learning!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Today we had a special guest! Penny's mom and baby sister came to Morning Meeting to help answer some of our questions about babies! The Owls always loved seeing Joon, but today was a special occasion, because Joon where to help with our research! The Owls had had some questions about diapers and babies, and so Lalasa showed us how to change Joon's diapers. She first showed us different sizes of diapers, including tiny tiny diapers that Joon wore when she was first born! Then she showed us the cloth diapers that Joon uses now. Next it was time to change her diaper! When Lalasa open up the diaper, it was dry! Joon is already learning how to use the bathroom, so Lalasa took her to use one of the toilets in our bathroom. The Owls were fascinated to learn that she peed! Next it was time for her coconut oil diaper cream, and then she got her new diaper!

Later in the morning, Lucas and his mom arrived with a passel of pink balloons. They had been to see the doctor and learned that Lucas is going to have a little sister!

We also spent time washing babies with real baby soap! The children were very thorough, reminding each other, "Don't forget the cracks!"

We had two more special guests today: Thomas, our seventh grade helper, and Paul our substitute teacher in for Mike who is at a conference.
