When our seed study began, one of the things that friends were very excited about was the possibility of creating a seed play. This morning, we decided to explore this possibility a little further and ask the Owls what characters would we need if we were going to make a play? The buzz that was created was insatiable.
With the beautiful weather staying consistently pleasant, we decided that today would be a perfect day for an outside day! This means that immediately after morning meeting, we went outside, having snack and choice time on our playground. Throughout the morning, other classes came and went, yet the Owls remained engaged all the while. It was a great chance to truly connect with every aspect of our playground because very often there are multiple classrooms out at once, and it is hard to explore the possibilities offered with large numbers of children everywhere. During the more quiet parts of the morning, the Owls were able to fully explore.

One of the activities offered was to create outdoor art. We used spray bottles that were filled with liquid water colors and set up large sheets of watercolor paper on the outdoor easel. As the colors were sprayed, we watched the interesting way that the paint lines ran down the paper, and we watched the colors mix as more layers of paint were sprayed.
And to end your day, here are some friends that are chained together. Imagine how that would test some relationships...and yet they loved it!
